Psalm 100, verse 1.
The Lord said unto my Lord. Sit thou at my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Divine Intervention. Great Reversal
Your enemies will become your footstool.
The one who opposes you suppresses you. The one who tries to keep you down will be made to serve as the platform beneath your feet. Your racist boss, your discriminatory co-worker, the system that wants to crush you, they are the footstool.
God is the one who is positioning your foot on their neck. This is God executing justice.
This prophecy is being fulfilled.
God is positioning the authority while your oppressor falls.
Joshua 10
This is God moving in real time and keeping his word. God keeps his promise.
The oppressors fall, the oppressed rise.
The mighty being brought low, the low is being lifted high.
Divine Reversal.
God shows that their oppressors are powerless. Every oppressor, every enemy, every person or system or power that comes against God’s people, God will make them a footstool. He will put them under your feet. He will make you a complete victory.
Isaiah chapter 49, verse 23
Those who ruled will serve.
Those who have power will use that power to take care of you, to provide for you, and to meet your needs. Total submission is complete humbling. The proud brought low and lick up the dust of thy feet.
Those who ruled unjustly will serve. Those who held power through wickedness will lose that power and be brought down to the dust.
Luke chapter 1, verse 51-53
The might bought down. The lowly lifted up.
The proud scattered, the might removed from their seats of power.
The hungry are filled, the rich who gained wealth through oppression are sent away empty, and those who are considered low, who are pushed to the bottom as they are deemed unworthy, they’re exalted.
The mighty are being fired from their position, removed from offices, stripped of their authority. The ones they pushed down, exalted, promoted, elevated, and given the very seats the mighty once held. God humbles the oppressors and elevates the oppressed.
This prophecy, identity, justice. This is God’s signature: God bringing every enemy under subjection. It starts at the workplace, through social changes, and culminates in ultimate fulfillment when every knee bows, every tongue confesses, and Christ reigns Supreme.
